Sightseeing Everything

I purchased an unlimited tube pass today. Since then, I’ve traveled more than my feet can carry me. The tube is an interesting, but convenient mode of transportation. It’s odd, you can pop-up from underground in china-town or it could be in front of St. Paul’s Cathedral. You never know! London is great; I can see why many people live here. Yes it is bad weather, but it makes up for it in life. In Hyde Park where I live, the population is extremely diverse. In fact, the hostel is run by Australian people. They’ve been very good to us and have provided us a class room to study in.

I’m getting comfortable walking around in London and am finding it’s not as bad as everyone said. The best part has been Speaker’s Corner in Hyde Park. On this corner one can simply stand and yell and preach about whatever they want. Most of the time it is about America and other controversial topics like abortion and homosexuality. The people are eccentric and entertaining. Hyde Park is way bigger than I thought. It is about 4 miles wide…unbelievable if you look at a map of

I’ve seen many, many buildings I’ve only seen in books. It’s been amazing. Even to see things like the London Tower which is older than anything in America.

I’m putting all my photos online here.

I’ve Landed

Since I am paying £1 per 30min for internet use, I’ll make this entry short.

-Plane Trip Great, watched Back to the Future twice.

-London is awsome, but i’ve been sick all day because of drinking lastnight in our hostel bar. Big mistake, will not do again!

-I’ve got my starbucks now and feel a little more at home.Š

Packing for my big trip

It’s odd, I am packing for my trip to London, and I have few worries. Let me tell you, I would have been worried if it wasn’t for everyone around me pitching in and donating to my trip. This weekend, i was gifted enough travel sized items to last me a year. It’s been wonderful. Thank you to all who have put my mind at ease. I promise to repay you someday.

Wish me luck!

An Awsome Data and Information Designer

I stubbled across this the other day. A student at MIT has been exploring how to represent data with a visual platform. This should be looked at by anyone intrested in a terminal project. Link here.

Here is some software called Processing he developed and was used by John Houck of Morphosis Architects.

Vertical Farming

At humankind’s current rate of growth, it is estimated that by the year 2050, the planet will be host to three billion more people than it is today. Yet at present, over 80% of the planet’s arable land is already in use, which leaves one to wonder how such a large number of people will be fed.
